The August Initiation was marvelous, thanks to the help and cooperation of Martha Sinclair, Martha Carey, and their faithful hostesses. A special thank you to Joyce who opened her beautiful home to all. Have you ever eaten such delicious goodies and enjoyed seeing fellow sisters? A special welcome to our new initiates: Norma Waters, Libby White, Peggy Baker, and Mary Accardi. A special thank you to Judy Bonar for visiting Teresa Whitten and delivering the beautiful red roses from Initiation. They both enjoyed their lovely visit! For October’s Meeting on Saturday, October 22, 2005, 9:30-11:30 A.M. at theSatellite Beach Library, be ready to learn about Landscaping your Florida Yard withNative Plants. Susan Wailes and her committee members have arranged for Sharon Dolan, owner of Maple Street Nursery in West Melbourne, to give us suggestions about introducing native plants in our yard. Sharon is a native plant landscaper and has great plans for reducing the need for mowing grass. She will also give us tips on what types of plants to include in our gardens to attract butterflies and birds. She has many wonderful ideas to incorporate into our landscapes. Be sure to attend and bring any questions concerning how native plants will fit into your own yard. Don’t forget BOOK SWAP & Chapter Project-Bring canned goods and nonperishable food items for a Community Food Bank. See you in September!
